This class is excellent for anyone short on time, new to yoga or returning to class in a recovery phase of life. Short and sweet is a gentle class that reinforces the basics of yoga for sustaining wellness and health throughout life’s ups and downs. You will practice postures, breath and meditation for 45 minutes twice a week.

This class will include:

* Lecture / Lesson - Chakras 2-3 (15 minutes)

* Review - Chakras 6 & 1 (send questions prior, 10 minutes planned)

*50 minutes of asana, postural portion, focused on chakra balancing from root to crown.

* Intro to the pranic channels (Nadis) that connect the chakras.  (10 minutes)

*Experiencing Pranic  Circuits - Breathing Focus (10Minutes)

*Energetic Balancing Meditation (20 minutes) 

*Rest


Dismissal or Optional Time for Questions and Advice - 30 minutes.  This portion will follow the class for anyone interested.  If you have questions that you’d like covered or any follow up from session 1, please send these questions in advance and we will cover these at the beginning.

- Energy can become stagnant or blocked due to a variety of everyday life factors… stress, conflict, loss, pain and more. These blocks can disrupt the harmony of energy flowing through the body and can leave you feeling heavy, stuck and dull or aggravated, scattered and confused. This class will introduce the chakra system and work with breath, sound healing and yoga asana to begin a re-alignment of the energetic body with the intention to bring a sense of vitality and inner balance!

In this course we take refuge in our breath.  Pranayama is breath control or regulation of the breath. When practiced regularly, intentional breath practices balance the nervous system, and may help to increase lung capacity, and enhance clarity and emotional stability.  Breath is Life! 

This class will close with a meditation and savasana or deep yogic rest.

Ayurvedic Cooking Principals

Explore the Principals of Ayurvedic Cooking with Michael Plasha on Saturday May 5th from 11 am - 1pm.   NOTE: IF REGISTERING AFTER MAY 1ST - THIS CLASS BECOMES WAITING LIST ONLY & THE COST INCREASES TO $25.  PLEASE CONFIRM A SEAT BEFORE ARRIVAL.  Ayurvedic diet and nutrition is a complex subject and can be overwhelming. In this introduction to Ayurvedic cooking, we will keep it simple! It’s all about the spices relative to your predominant dosha. We will discuss a handout on the general recommendations for the psychological treatment of the doshas. You will learn how to navigate the complexities of the dual or tri dosha constitution. 

You will learn how to make a dosha friendly masala which is the basis of Indian cooking. We will apply the masala idea to a quick version of fried rice with spices, nuts and vegetables that is easy, tasty and very healthy. It is one of my staples. I’ll provide the recipe. Another is kitchari and I’ll explain the basic approach. You will also receive chai recipes for each dosha.
